Babe in Boyland - Jody Gehrman

Title: Babe in Boyland
Author: Jody Gehrman
Pages: 292
Pub. Date: February 17, 2011
Source: Library

When high school junior Natalie--or Dr. Aphrodite, as she calls herself when writing the relationship column for her school paper--is accused of knowing nothing about guys and giving girls bad relationship advice, she decides to investigate what guys really think and want.

But the guys in her class won't give her straight or serious answers. The only solution? Disguising herself as a guy and spending a week at Underwood Academy, the private all-boy boarding school in town. There she learns a lot about guys and girls in ways she never expected--especially when she falls for her dreamy roommate, Emilio. How can she show him she likes him without blowing her cover?

My Thoughts:

Oh, this book is so sweet! It was so much fun reading about Natalie as a "boy" in Underwood Academy with only boys. You kept guessing if they are going to find out or not.

Natalie was very good described, she was into her Dr. Aphrodite project and loved her friends. When she starts getting all these e-mails by readers that thinks that she is a total fake. Natalie decides to write an article about how boys think but none of the boys she knows will give her a straight answer. Natalie decides to go undercover as a boy to Underwood Academy with only boys. Emilio was so sweet and adorable.

This book made me laugh a couple of times and I enjoyed it very much! A good summer read.

Author Love:
In 2011 which new/old authors have you discovered & loved?

This years books are just filled with awesomeness. There are great new authors that I haven't heard of before and there are the older ones that I've read some books from.

This year I loved Jenny Han's We'll always have summer (My review) , it was beautiful story and I didn't want it to end. I read The summer I turned pretty and It's not summer without you last year and I loved them.

Also, Meg Cabot. I mean, hello everybody? Greek mythology! Who wouldn't love that?! I read the Princess Diaries and watched the movies and they were awesome!

Gayle Forman came with the sequel to If I Stay which was the saddest love story I've ever read! I started jumping of happiness. (My review)

Aimee Carter - The Goddess Test was love for me. I adored it and I normally attend to love Greek Mythology. I need more!(My review)

Laurie Faria Stolarz is coming with a new book from the Touch series. Deadly Little Voices. Can't wait!

What authors do you love this year, so far?

The Goddess Test - Aimee Carter

Title: The Goddess Test
Author: Aimee Carter
Pages: 304
Pub. Date: April 19, 2011
Source: Bought

It's always been just Kate and her mom—and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.
Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld—and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.
Kate is sure he's crazy—until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.

My Thoughts:

I was really looking forward reading The Goddess Test and I'm not disappointed. This book has everything that you wish for. I, also, had a book hangover from It's not summer without you, but this one made me feel MUCH better. And, I don't think I can wait for Goddess Interrupted!!

Kate really loved her mom, you could see that from the first page. She didn't want to loose her. I loved how she forgive Ava for what she did, even though it was something really stupid. Henry was just hot and sweet and awesome and completely perfect.

This book was perfect and everyone have to read it! You will not regret it. I'm desperate for Goddess Interrupted!!

We'll always have summer - Jenny Han

Title: We'll always have summer
Author: Jenny Han
Pages: 288
Pub. Date: April 26, 2011

It's been two years since Conrad told Belly to go with Jeremiah. She and Jeremiah have been inseparable ever since, even attending the same college-- only, their relationship hasn't exactly been the happily ever after Belly had hoped it would be. And when Jeremiah makes the worst mistake a boy can make, Belly is forced to question what she thought was true love. Does she really have a future with Jeremiah? Has she ever gotten over Conrad? It's time for Belly to decide, once and for all, who has her heart forever.

My Thoughts:

Oh. My. God.
I can't describe how much I loved The summer I turned pretty, when I read it last year. I was in Sweden and I had to wait for It's not summer without you to be translated, but when I moved to Canada it was right in front of me and I seriously grabbed and started laughing of joy. No kidding. Turned out that We'll always have summer was going to be released in a couple of months and I start screaming, but then go all sad because it's the last book in the series. Anyway, here I am, trying to find words that can describe my love for this series.

Everything in this book is perfect, from characters to plot. Belly is going to marry Jeremiah, but their parents thinks they're to young, but Belly and Jeremiah don't want to wait. When Conrad finds out about the news he doesn't know what to do and I think he makes the best decision. Belly ends up marrying one of the brothers, the one I wanted her to be with and no I'm not telling you, because I would ruin it for you.

Or...want to find out?! Okay, let's read the book! No, seriously, I cried in the ending of this book, note cried. I'm not that kind of person who easily cry. Read it.

I've never written a review like this in my whole life before. Thank you Jenny Han for writing this book, because it's history for me.

The most beautiful love story in the world; Summer series.

Stay - Deb Caletti

Title: Stay
Author: Deb Caletti
Pages: 320
Pub. Date: April 5, 2011
Source: Library

Clara's relationship with Christian is intense from the start, and like nothing she’s ever experienced before. But what starts as devotion quickly becomes obsession, and it's almost too late before Clara realizes how far gone Christian is—and what he's willing to do to make her stay.
Now Clara has left the city—and Christian—behind. No one back home has any idea where she is, but she still struggles to shake off her fear. She knows Christian won't let her go that easily, and that no matter how far she runs, it may not be far enough....

My Thoughts:

This story was so beautiful! I really liked it. Ms. Caletti's writing style was amazing and it felt like a movie. The characters and the story itself were just wow!

Clara and her dad decides to move because of Clara's ex-boyfriend Christian, he's to dangerous, but Clara knows that he won't let go that easy. Christian is obsessed, he can't let her go and now he needs to find her. I loved Finn and Jack, they were so sweet and the way Finn kept protecting her. Clara's dad takes care of her and helps her with what she's going through.

The ending was beautiful and you know that this can happen to anyone, anywhere. I will definitely read other books by Deb Caletti because this book was great. Read it!

Happy Victoria Day!

Born at Midnight - C.C. Hunter

Title: Born at Midnight
Author: C.C. Hunter
Pages: 416
Pub. Date: March 29, 2011
Source: Library

One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever.  Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.”  Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.
Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either.  Or does she?  They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason.  As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas.  Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past.  Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.

My Thoughts:

I loved this book! Everything about it was so freaking awesome. From characters to plot. Filled with action, love and question marks. Yes, I wrote question marks, read the book and you'll know why.

Kylie was so clear and it felt like I could make a connection from my friend and her, same thinking style. Anyway, she was so chocked when she found out that she's a supernatural. Her friends, Della and Miranda are so sweet and I just loved all their fights. Kylie kept asking herself what she was and trying to get some information. The guys in this book are so awesome!! First, I was Team Derek, but after a couple of chapters when he spends an afternoon with Kylie I was more Team Lucas. Lucas was so different and a werewolf. In this situation, I would like to point out that I do not like werewolf in books after The Twilight Saga (Yes, I'm Team Edward and I didn't like Jacob!) but Lucas was, like I said, different.

The ending of Born at Midnight was so surprising and action-filled! I loved it and if you haven't read it yet, I strongly recommend that you do that! You'll love it. Now I just have to wait for Awake at Dawn (October 2011).

Flawless - Sara Shepard

Title: Flawless
Author: Sara Shepard
Pages: 330
Publishing Date: March 15, 2011
Source: Borrowed

Spencer stole her sister's boyfriend. Aria is brokenhearted over her English teacher. Emily likes her new friend Maya . . . as much more than a friend. Hanna's obsession with looking flawless is making her sick. And their most horrible secret yet is so scandalous that the truth would ruin them forever.
And why shouldn't I tell? They deserve to lose it all. With every crumpled note, wicked IM, and vindictive text message I send, I'll be taking these pretty little liars down. Trust me, I've got enough dirt to bury them alive.

My Thoughts:

Flawless is the second book in the Pretty Little Liars series. It was as awesome as the first book, if not even better! Filled with drama, gossip, revenge and love.

I loved Ms. Shepards writing. The characters were so well described without getting you annoyed.
Hanna was still desperate to get skinnier and prettier. Aria is trying to move on with Ezra, Emily likes her friend Maya more than just friends and Spencer's life is falling apart because her parents and sister found out what was going on with her and Wren. The four girls are still getting the scary messages from A and together, they're trying to find out who A is and how do he/she know all their secrets. Toby is awesome!!

I can make a really long list if why you should read this series, but believe me, it would be really long. PPL series is awesome and I'm going to continue reading it!

Where she went - Gayle Forman

Title: Where she went
Author: Gayle Forman
Pages: 264
Publishing Date: April 5, 2011
Source: Library

It's been three years since the devastating accident ... three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Julliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future - and each other.
Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

My thoughts:

This book was so beautiful! I loved it, really! Where she went is the sequel to If I Stay, but it's written from Adams point of view.

It felt like Adam was suffering from everything. It was clear from the very beginning that he doesn't want that life. I could definitely feel Adam's pain and that he'd lost Mia and he missed her. But, surprise, because, they meet at her concert and decides to talk and spend some time together before the fly their separate ways, in their different lives.

If you haven't read If I Stay, you need to do that. If I Stay is the only book I've read that made me cry and you'll love it! And if you've done that and haven't read this, hurry up and grasp in your hands because you won't be able to let it go.

City of Fallen Angels - Cassandra Clare

Title: City of Fallen Angels
Author: Cassandra Clare
Pages: 424
Publishing Date: April 5, 2011
Source: Library

City of Fallen Angels takes place two months after the events of City of Glass. In it, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever.

Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

My Thoughts:

....Where am I going to start? Somebody help?! This book is amazing! I, actually, can't find a word to describe it. Jace, Clary and Simon have so much to take care of.

Simon is dating Izzy and Maia. He doesn't know if they're taking it seriously, so he asks Clary for advice. Clary herself is happy that she can finally be with Jace, even though Jocelyn doesn't like that. Jace is having these dreams and is wondering if he's going crazy.
The most calm character in this book would probably be Kyle. He seemed so nice and tried to keep everything under control. Now, I haven't reviewed the other books in the series so you guys don't really know that I LOVE Alec!!!!! Seriously, he's amazing! And in this book he's even more amazing!

City of Fallen Angels is everything that you've ever dreamt of so for your own good sake, go read it if you haven't!!!!! You won't regret it, I promise!!

Cover Reveal: Deadly Little Voices - Laurie Faria Stolarz

Hey guys! Just wanted to share the beautiful cover of Deadly Little Voices with you, because I loved it!!

December 6, 2011

High school junior Camelia thought her powers of psychometry only gave her the ability to sense the future through touch. But now she’s started to hear voices. Mean voices. Berating her, telling her how ugly she is, and that she’d be better off dead. It’s a troubling development that has Camelia terrified for her mental stability, especially since her deranged aunt with a suicidal history just moved into the family house. More torturing, ex-boyfriend Ben, who has similar psychometric abilities, has been spending more time with their classmate Alejandra, even as her own feelings for Adam grow stronger. Still, the bond between Camelia and Ben is palpable.

With the line between right and wrong fraying, Camelia turns to pottery to get a grasp on her emotions. She begins sculpting a beautiful figure skater, only to receive frightening premonitions that someone’s in danger. But who is the victim? And how can Camelia help them when she is on the brink of losing her own sanity?

I loved the other Touch books! They were amazing and very well written, the ending was always unexpected and, yeah, I loved them, so I'm looking forward reading Deadly Little Voices. The cover is so beautiful!

What do you think? :)

Shattered Souls
Mary Lindsey
December 8, 2011

Lenzi hears voices. She also sees visions--gravestones, floods, a gorgeous guy with steel gray eyes. She knows she must be going crazy, just like her dad did. Her boyfriend, Zak, can't do anything to help, and the voices just keep getting louder, the visions more intense. But when Lenzi meets Alden, the boy from her dreams, everything makes sense.

Sort of.

He tells Lenzi that she's a reincarnated Speaker--someone who can talk to lost souls and help them move on--and that he has been her Protector for centuries. But instead of embracing her abilities, Lenzi struggles between her life as the girlfriend of a sexy musician and the life she is destined to lead with Alden. Yet time is running out; a malevolent spirit has been trying to destroy Lenzi for ages, and he will surely kill her if she doesn't make a decision soon.

Her choices are clear: Destiny or normalcy. Alden or Zak. Life or death.

Silence (Hush Hush #3)

I'm really looking forward reading Shattered Souls because I read the synopsis and I loved it immediately. And of course, Silence... Because I'm freaking in love with Patch (and everything else in the book)!!!! Also, the covers for these books are stunning, seriously, I loved both of them!

Personal Demons - Lisa Desrochers

Title: Personal Demons
Author: Lisa Desrochers
Pages: 365
Publishing Date: September 14, 2011
Source: Library

Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She has spent years keeping everyone at a distance—-even her closest friends—-and it seems as if her senior year is going to be more of the same . . . until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can’t seem to stay away from him.
What she doesn’t know is that Luc is on a mission. He’s been sent from Hell itself to claim Frannie’s soul. It should be easy—-all he has to do is get her to sin, and Luc is as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn’t stand a chance. But he has to work fast, because if the infernals are after her, the celestials can’t be far behind. And sure enough, it’s not long before the angel Gabriel shows up, willing to do anything to keep Luc from getting what he came for. It isn’t long before they find themselves fighting for more than just Frannie’s soul.
But if Luc fails, there will be Hell to pay . . . for all of them.

My Thoughts:

I want to start of with telling you guys that this book is awesome! I loved it. In every chapter there's something new and the plot is very tempting.

The characters were great! Ms. Desrochers thought about everyone when she wrote this book! I really liked Frannie, she seemed so calm and didn't really care about many stuff. Also, she had funny friends, I didn't like Taylor from the beginning, though. She was trying to steal Luc and in the book she says that he's not her type. Riley was really nice.
I loved Gabe and Luc. Both of them were here to tag Frannie's soul but gets a little bit distracted. Like Frannie, I couldn't pick a "team" (If you've read my other reviews, you know that I always have a "Team"). Luc was... I can't really find a word to describe him, but maybe, dangerous. While Gabe was all angelic and respected her parents a little bit more. Like I said, I don't have a "Team" for right now.

This book was filled with everything that you expected and even more. The ending leaves you there, wanting more. I can't wait for Original Sins which is out on July 5, 2011!!
