WoW is hosted by Jill from Breaking The Spine!

Today I'm doing a special WoW, because guess what? The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer is released! Eeep! I'm going to run to the nearest Chapters and snag one right away (after school).

Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
It can.
She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.
There is.
She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.
She's wrong.

WoW is hosted by Jill from Breaking The Spine!

FEVER by Lauren DeStefano

Rhine and Gabriel have escaped the mansion, but danger is never far behind.

Running away brings Rhine and Gabriel right into a trap, in the form of a twisted carnival whose ringmistress keeps watch over a menagerie of girls. Just as Rhine uncovers what plans await her, her fortune turns again. With Gabriel at her side, Rhine travels through an environment as grim as the one she left a year ago - surroundings that mirror her own feelings of fear and hopelessness.

The two are determined to get to Manhattan, to relative safety with Rhine’s twin brother, Rowan. But the road there is long and perilous - and in a world where young women only live to age twenty and young men die at twenty-five, time is precious. Worse still, they can’t seem to elude Rhine’s father-in-law, Vaughn, who is determined to bring Rhine back to the mansion...by any means necessary.

In the sequel to Lauren DeStefano’s harrowing Wither, Rhine must decide if freedom is worth the price - now that she has more to lose than ever.

The Girl Of Fire And Thorns by Rae Carson

The Girl Of Fire And Thorns
Rae Carson

Release Date: September 20th, 2011
Pages: 432
Source: ARC provided by publisher (Thank you, Shannon!)

Once a century, one person is chosen for greatness.

Elisa is the chosen one.

But she is also the younger of two princesses, the one who has never done anything remarkable. She can’t see how she ever will.

Now, on her sixteenth birthday, she has become the secret wife of a handsome and worldly king—a king whose country is in turmoil. A king who needs the chosen one, not a failure of a princess.

And he’s not the only one who needs her. Savage enemies seething with dark magic are hunting her. A daring, determined revolutionary thinks she could be his people’s savior. And he looks at her in a way that no man has ever looked at her before. Soon it is not just her life, but her very heart that is at stake.

Elisa could be everything to those who need her most. If the prophecy is fulfilled. If she finds the power deep within herself. If she doesn’t die young.

My Thoughts:

This book is without any doubt one of the best books I've read in a while. The fantasy and plot is just amazing and the story came with many surprises! The Girl Of Fire And Thorns was very easy and fun to read, even though there were some parts that you feel so sorry for Elisa and really want to help her go through (let's just call it:) "The Stuff".

The characters were all important and it felt like I knew every one in the story. There was enough background information on each character, but not too much. Elisa, herself, had an adorable personaity and I couldn't help but love her. She was young and yet so brave, without knowing it. I had more of these moments with other characters like Humberto. He was so sweet and respected Elisa. I also liked Cosme, Belen. Yes, that's right; Belen.

The Girl Of Fire And Thorns was an amazing read and I can't get enough! I will guarantee you that I will re-read this book a couple of times until Crown Of Embers comes out in October 18th, 2012. Now, that's a veeryy long time. Why? Why are you torturing us like this, Mrs. Carson?! Until then The Girl Of Fire And Thorns is a MUST read!

Want To Go Private? by Sarah Darer Littman

Title: Want To Go Private
Author: Sarah Darer Littman
Release Date: August 1st, 2011
Pages: 336
Source: Library

Abby and Luke chat online. They've never met. But they are going to. Soon.
Abby is starting high school—it should be exciting, so why doesn't she care? Everyone tells her to "make an effort," but why can't she just be herself? Abby quickly feels like she's losing a grip on her once-happy life. The only thing she cares about anymore is talking to Luke, a guy she met online, who understands. It feels dangerous and yet good to chat with Luke—he is her secret, and she's his. Then Luke asks her to meet him, and she does. But Luke isn't who he says he is. When Abby goes missing, everyone is left to put together the pieces. If they don't, they'll never see Abby again.
My Thoughts:

Want To Go Private was a book that I expected to be different than it was. The whole plot and characters were different, but I wouldn’t say that it was negative. In fact, this story had a meaning in it and that meaning was bold.

Abby was a girl that I could relate to in one part, like she was starting High School and she was nervous. Oh, I REALLY understood how she felt there. In about half of the book Abby leaves with Luke and her family is looking for her. The characters in the story are all described well and it was like you were there, helping them find Abby. I loved how Abby kept thinking ‘I’m never going to meet this guy’.

Want To Go Private was a great story and like I said it has a bold meaning. I liked it and you should give it a chance if you haven’t already.

Book Disappointments: Have you ever come across a book you were so stoked to read, but it failed miserably in your eyes?
I'll admit, yeah, there have been some books that I was sooo excited to read but when I got into the story, it just didn't work out for me! Some of these books are:

You should have seen me when I got this book. I'm dead serious, I was jumping up and down because I was waiting for that book in ages, and here it is. A couple of hours and chapters later I wanted to stop reading, but I kept giving it a chance. So here I am. Tried to like it, but just COULDN'T.

Miss Peregrine's Home was a good book, but honestly I was so disapointed when I finished it. Where was the mystery in the book? I wanted to like this book but it just wasn't for me.

WoW is hosted by Jill from Breaking The Spine!

OF POSEIDON
(May 22nd, 2012)
Emma and her friend Chloe are spending vacation in Florida. When Emma (literally) runs into a hot guy named Galen on the beach, little does she know he’s a prince of the Syrena. Galen and Emma both feel something strange – is it attraction? – and Galen suspects that Emma might well be the girl he’s heard of – a human who can communicate with fish.

What follows is a deadly scene with a shark in which Galen witnesses Emma’s gifts. He must know more about her, and follows her back to New Jersey, and high school, to find out for sure if she’s the key to saving his kingdom. Soon, Emma can’t deny her feelings for him, but can’t explain them, either – and both she and Galen must learn more about where she comes from and what her powers are before they can trust one another and their feelings

Thoughts:

This book sounds amazing. But as you all may have noticed, I'm am kind of a loving fan of all mythology books. So technically, this shouldn't really be a surprise!
The cover is just adorable/beautiful. I will for sure pick this up and read it!

Wildefire by Karsten Knight

Title: Wildefire
Author: Karsten Knight
Release Date: July 26th
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Pages: 400
Source: Library

Every flame begins with a spark.
Ashline Wilde is having a rough sophomore year. She’s struggling to find her place as the only Polynesian girl in school, her boyfriend just cheated on her, and now her runaway sister, Eve, has decided to barge back into her life. When Eve’s violent behavior escalates and she does the unthinkable, Ash transfers to a remote private school nestled in California’s redwoods, hoping to put the tragedy behind her. But her fresh start at Blackwood Academy doesn’t go as planned. Just as Ash is beginning to enjoy the perks of her new school—being captain of the tennis team, a steamy romance with a hot, local park ranger—Ash discovers that a group of gods and goddesses have mysteriously enrolled at Blackwood…and she’s one of them. To make matters worse, Eve has resurfaced to haunt Ash, and she’s got some strange abilities of her own. With a war between the gods looming over campus, Ash must master the new fire smoldering within before she clashes with her sister one more time… And when warm and cold fronts collide, there’s guaranteed to be a storm.

My Thoughts:
I read about Wildefire a couple of months ago and as soon as a discovered that it had something with mythology to do, I added it to my To-Read Pile. I’m very happy that I did, because Wildefire was an amazing story, which is not over yet!
Ashline was so different from the girls in her age! She had a sister who could kill like it was shopping, she was one kick-ass girl and the rest is spoilers (so read the book!).
I really enjoyed reading the first scene in the book, even though it was kind of weird, since I don’t know if you actually experience something like that in High School, with that I mean the older grades ( :P ). Anyways, Ash changed schools and went to a boarding school.

I really enjoyed reading about Ash’s friends, Raja, Ade, Rolfe, and Lily. Let’s not forget about Colt, shall we? Since, he was so sweet during the book. I could relate to one thing while I was reading Wildefire and that was Rolfe, he was a Norse God and no it’s going to get boring so I’ll stop.
Back to my review: Wildefire was different from every Mythology book I’ve read so far and I really need book two. Now, please!

Books to Television: Which books would you love to see made in to a tv series? or movie?
Ooh, this is a very hard question, I mean, there's like a ton of books that just NEEDS to be made into a movie. I'm just going to start with Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, I can visualize it as a movie and I can't see something not interestong about. Another book that I think would be awesome is Wither by Lauren DeStefano. Especially THAT book would be perfect as a movie. The whole nature around it is kind of "made" for a movie - Why the hell hasn't this happened yet?!!

But there's a thing about books made into a movie, and that's the characters and actors. In previous books, like The Twilight Saga when I read it before watching the movie, I imagined Edward, Bella and Jacob a bit differently, not that I don't like Rob, Kristen and Taylor, they're *amazing* actors and actress.
Anyways, I think that that is the only negative point about it. It changes your point of view and the way you saw it from the beginning.

Supernaturally by Kiersten White

Title: Supernaturally
Author: Kiersten White
Release Date: July 26th
Publisher: HarperCollins
Pages: 336
Source: Library

Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.
But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.
So much for normal

My Thoughts:
Evie, Oh Evie! I just love it when the second book in a series turns out to be better than the first one. Yeah, you got me there, I didn’t like Paranormalcy as much as a liked Supernaturally, but I’m so happy I gave Supernaturally a chance!
Supernaturally was a fast read for me. I started on page one and suddenly I were on page 137! All the characters were perfect and had an important part in the story! One of the newcomers I loved was Jack, how he showed up in the most inappropriate moments and he was just adorable!
And Evie was as hilarious as she was in the first book! Her comments and thoughts were just so funny and in some parts I couldn’t stop laughing. I loved how Lend and Evie’s relationship was strong, even though it seemed like it was going to fall apart in a couple of moments. And Reth, oh Reth! Is it possible for me to stop loving him? No, I don’t think so!

Mrs. White is an excellent author, with an incredible writing voice. It was amazing to see how she could give each and every character their own voice and be as serious or funny they wanted!
I’m just going to tell you two words: Read This!

Some Info...

Hey guys!

As you may have noticed, my updating has been slowing down. I really wanted to enjoy the last days of summer, but no, that didn't mean that I didn't read. I'm so sad that school is starting (I don't think anyone is happy about that!). Anyways, I just wanted you to know that school starts tomorrow and I'm sure that my homework is going to kill me the next four years, or so I've heard, so school is going to be my first priority, right now. I will be posting reviews and other fun stuff as much as a can and I hope that you will have a great school year (without a tons of homework!)

TGIF (19)

TGIF is hosted by Ginger from GReads!

This Friday's Question:
Making a Difference: Which book(s) would you put in the hands of
today's teenagers in hopes of making a difference in their lives?
So, as you know I am already a teenager so I'm going to list the books that made difference in my life. I've read some really awesome books that just made me sit there after a closed the book and just stare at something. I remember before reading Twilight, I only used to read YA contemporary fiction. I don't think there were that many paranormal books. At least not in Sweden!

One of the first books I read in Canada were The Year I Turned Sixteen. It was the sweetest think I've ever read. It's about four sisters, each celebrating their Sweet Sixteen. And it isn't that kind of a Sweet Sixteen, since they just lost father and are still trying to put their life back together. The story takes place during every sisters sixteenth year. So it's starts with Rose and I have to say that Rose's story is the best one.
The ending of The Year I Turned Sixteen made me cry, and believe me, I don't cry easily! It was so unexpected and the whole story is just so surprising and filled with loops!
Everyone should pick this book up, it will make big difference!

Another book that I enjoyed and made me think about it a lot was The Summer series by Jenny Han. I don't even know how to start here. I picked this book up from my local library (in Sweden :P) and I read it and never wanted it to end. A couple of months later I read the second book and couldn't stop thinking about it either. And then the last book came and here I am. Months later, still loving this series like I read them yesterday! If you haven't read these books, do not write it in the comments, instead go buy them. I promise, promise, promise that you will adore them!

What would you pick? Leave a comment and I'll make sure to check it out!
