WoW is hosted by Jill from Breaking The Spine!
Insurgent
Veronica Roth
One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.
New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian Divergent series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.

The Space Between by Brenna Jovanoff
The Space Between
Brenna Jovanoff
Release Date: November 15th, 2011
Pages: 363

Everything is made of steel, even the flowers. How can you love anything in a place like this?
Daphne is the half-demon, half-fallen angel daughter of Lucifer and Lilith. Life for her is an endless expanse of time, until her brother Obie is kidnapped - and Daphne realizes she may be partially responsible. Determined to find him, Daphne travels from her home in Pandemonium to the vast streets of Earth, where everything is colder and more terrifying. With the help of the human boy she believes was the last person to see her brother alive, Daphne glimpses into his dreams, discovering clues to Obie's whereabouts. As she delves deeper into her demonic powers, she must navigate the jealousies and alliances of the violent archangels who stand in her way. But she also discovers, unexpectedly, what it means to love and be human in a world where human is the hardest thing to be.
This second novel by rising star Brenna Yovanoff is a story of identity, discovery, and a troubled love between two people struggling to find their place both in our world and theirs.
My Thoughts:
I was really excited to read The Space Between. I had heard so much about Ms. Yovanoff's writing and yeah, like I said I was really excited. And..I can just say that her writing was amazing. I was hooked and I loved the plot!
Daphne as a character was ver different from her sisters and that kind of surprised me, but only 'kind of'! She was very sweet and caring and her sudden feelings for Truman were also surprising! But I guess this book was all about surprises.. Anyways, Truman, on the other hand, was soooo...I can't really find the words to describe him. He was like a withering soul (I don't even know if that's an actual expression)! He was sad, mad, tired and even more tired. I felt so sorry fo him and I was so glad that Daphne took care of. I also loved Daphne's bother Obie. I got the impression that he was a responsible person.
I can't really say something other than that I loved this book. I will definitely be checking out Ms. Yovanoff's other book, The Replacement!

A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies
A Beautiful Dark
Jocelyn Davies
Release Date: September 27th, 2011
Pages: 390
Source: Bought
On the night of Skye's seventeenth birthday, she meets two enigmatic strangers. Complete opposites;like fire and ice;Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair and aloof. Their sudden appearance sends Skye's life into a tailspin. She has no idea what they want, or why they seem to follow her every move only that their presence coincides with a flurry of strange events. Soon she begins to doubt not just the identity of the two boys, but also the truth about her own past.
In the dead of a bitingly cold Colorado winter, Skye finds herself coming to terms with the impossible secret that threatens to shatter her world. Torn between Asher, who she can't help falling for, and Devin, who she can't stay away from, the consequences of Skye's choice will reach further than the three of them could ever imagine.
My Thoughts:
I had very high expectations on A Beautiful Dark, because if all the reviews I had read about it. I can just say that this book did everything but disappoint. I finished it in a couple of hours and I couldn't put it down. Ms. Davies writing was catching and just great!
I loved Skye as a caracter, she was brave, funny and had that needed sarcasm. Which is very important in my opinion! Asher was defintely the sarcastic one, and I just loved him. Of course there were sometimes where I wanted so smack him in the face with something just because of his attitude but other than that, he was pretty sweet. Devin on the other hand was compeletely different than Asher. Devin was also very sweet and caring, more than Asher but he could go on my nerves sometimes. Let's just keep it simple and say that I liked them both!
Skye's friends were ... ahh I loved them! They cared about her, and funny!
The ending had me get up from chair and run up and down the stairs, seven times, mumbling 'No' too many times until I had calmed down. That was one cliffhanger and I seriously can't wait for the second book!

Waiting On Wednesday (29)
Ahh, it's been a while since I last did a WoW, but I'm back, so let's get going... !
WoW is hosted by Jill from Breaking The Spine!
You Are Here
Jennifer E. Smith
Emma and Peter are alike in a lot of ways. They are both lonely in a way that they really only mind once in a while. They both come from families that they don't quite understand. And they both feel like something big is missing from their lives. So this summer they are off to find something. For Emma, it is a grave, a grave that may be her only connection to her family. For Peter it is harder to define, but perhaps easier to navigate. It is a freedom, a sense of something more than what he has now. So off they go, searching for what we all search for; something to make sense of who they are where they come from.
(April 24th, 2012)
I'm very excited to read You Are Here. It sounds like a real summer-read. I've heard some great reviews about Ms. Smith's The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight and I'm really excited to read that one too!

Excuses..
As you may or may not have noticed, my blog has been silent these last couple of weeks! I've been so busy with all the school work and these huge projects! I've had absolutely no time to blog, nor read, which makes me sad since I have a lot to catch up on, but reading is fun so we're cool! I cannot garantuee that I will post every single day, with the exams coming up soon, but I will try. I love blogging way too much to leave it! So that's my excuse, guys and I'm sorry about that!
I've also decided to extend my giveaway to December 31st! So make sure to enter for a chance to win some awesome books! Look out for some reviews for the upcoming week!
Lots of hugs!
