High school junior Camelia thought her powers of psychometry only gave her the ability to sense the future through touch. But now she’s started to hear voices. Mean voices. Berating her, telling her how ugly she is, and that she’d be better off dead. It’s a troubling development that has Camelia terrified for her mental stability, especially since her deranged aunt with a suicidal history just moved into the family house. More torturing, ex-boyfriend Ben, who has similar psychometric abilities, has been spending more time with their classmate Alejandra, even as her own feelings for Adam grow stronger. Still, the bond between Camelia and Ben is palpable.
With the line between right and wrong fraying, Camelia turns to pottery to get a grasp on her emotions. She begins sculpting a beautiful figure skater, only to receive frightening premonitions that someone’s in danger. But who is the victim? And how can Camelia help them when she is on the brink of losing her own sanity?
My Thoughts:
Let me start off with telling you guys my relationship with the Touch series. I read the second one first (and then I reread the whole series in its order), Deadly Little Lies, because I didn't know that it was the second one, but I fell in love with basically
everything. Ms. Faria's writing is captivating and...I can't even describe it. So now you know that!
Camelia is a wonderful character, she's strong and I loved how she tried to keep her sanity. Ben, oh Ben. Ben's amazing, and by that I mean in every way! I'm totally Team Ben, even though I do have a weak point for Adam. Although, Ben could get on my nerves, because he clearly has veery strong feelings for Camelia, and doesn't tell her, while Adam puts it into words.
I love how Ms. Faria always puts an awesome twist towards the end of the book. It makes the reader think, really think, and then it turns out completely different, she also makes such an strong picture of the characters. Even though there's a LOT going on in the book, everything is organized and you are aware of what's happening.
If you haven't read the Touch series, I don't even know what you are waiting for. Go buy all of them. Like now. You won't regret, because Ms. Faria doesn't disappoint.
